The Riverstone Development is in a rapidly growing area of the Madera Ranchos Community. The site is connected to the San Joaquin River by a series of nature trails. It is in the middle of a large master planned neighborhood that is anchored by a community center which rivals many upscale resorts. This was one of the driving forces behind the architectural design and overall feel. The other “Big Idea” concept was to bring in some of the agrarian vocabulary that permeates the San Joaquin Valley influenced by its agriculture based economy.
The District’s guiding principal is to provide all of its students with the “latest in next generation” learning. To address safety and security, which is an important factor in today’s society, view lines were crucial to determine the overall layout of the school.
