SIM-PBK and the Fresno County Office of Education worked closely on the development of a new 24,000 sf career technology education building (CTE) at the Kermit Koontz Educational Center. This facility houses two 5,400 sf shops each with a 20-foot-wide roll-up door. One shop is dedicated to welding and sheet metal fabrication, and the other is for construction trades, such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and low voltage. Inside each shop is general tool storage, special tool storage, student project storage, radius trough sink, eyewash/shower emergency station, and two unisex restrooms. Additionally, there are two 1,050 sf classrooms that are equipped with a sliding marker board with teacher storage, full height cabinets, computer workstation, and pulldown markers boards. Outside is 8,100 sf covered patio for more flexibility with larger projects and materials. The patio also has storage for student projects.
